WHAT IS A COURSE?
All courses offered with the Niles Home School Partnership are voluntary.
The Niles Home School Partnership offers non-core virtual courses.
These courses can contain the option of personalizing the course using various resources. Community experts are one of these resources. The community has been pre-approved by the Niles Home School Partnership.
If you would like to suggest a Community Resource expert be added,
please use the appropriate form to submit their information.
(See button below)
Community Resource experts are only added ONCE per year (for the coming school year)
Any submissions AFTER April 1st, will be considered for the NEXT school year.

COURSES THROUGH NILES HOME SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP are accessed through Canvas, our learning management
system (LMS). These courses are provided through or using an interactive, digital learning environment. Courses may exist in an internet-connected environment, or through stand-alone course ware. Pupils may be separated from their teachers by time or location, or both, or they may be attending on-site. Instruction may be offered in a synchronous or asynchronous format. The instruction for these courses is presented by Highly Qualified Teachers employed by Niles Public Schools. These courses may also include an optional Community Resource Partner.
- COMMUNITY RESOURCE PARTNERS (face-to-face) offer enrichment opportunities with quality expert instruction, in the community. These optional opportunities are a wonderful addition to our courses and are designed to foster students' talents and interests.
SEATED COURSES are courses that take place in tradition school buildings. Their times are determined by the staff at any particular building. These course are taught by highly qualified teachers employed by Niles Community Schools.
All of our courses are all non-essential virtual courses, and will not be considered as a substitute for an essential course for Niles Community Schools. All courses are available to any student in the Niles Community Schools District as well as non-public schools. These courses receive a Complete/Incomplete designation, unless otherwise requested. The criteria for passing will be posted in the course Syllabus.
