Program Guidelines
Homeschool Students: Niles Virtual School is a voluntary supplement to your home school. You, as the parent, provide the instruction and direct your student’s learning. You must provide at least 51% of your student’s instruction. You must provide the instruction in English, history, math, and science. How you do this and what curriculum you use is at your discretion.
Private School Students: If you are using a private school, not using State Funding, you must be taking at least as many courses in the private school as you select in at Niles Virtual School. You must provide the instruction in English, history, math, and science. Niles Virtual School Niles Virtual School exists as a resource to provide the instruction in the subjects that are non-core. These courses are virtual in content delivery and offer an optional, face-to-face interaction with community experts. You will be assigned a required Homeroom. All courses at Niles Virtual School are available to any student in the Niles Community School district, home school student enrolled in the program whose residence is in Michigan, or private school student enrolled in the program whose residence is in Michigan. |
